When a filing is rejected or returned, you will receive an email at the email address you used to log in and e-file. The email subject will say "Filing Returned for Envelope Number: (your envelope number) in Case: (your case number) for filing (the name of the filing that is being returned)."
Open the email and read the Returned Comments section of the email (see example below) to find out why your filing was rejected by the court.
If your forms were rejected because of missing or incorrect information, you can go back to the Guide & File site to correct the information and e-file your forms again.
If your filing(s) were rejected because of missing documents or forms, you may need to file again through your state's eFile site. You can click below on the option you need to go straight to that section.
Correct Your Forms and eFile Again in Guide & File
Log into Guide & File with your email address and password.
Click My Interviews in the blue menu bar across the top of the site.
Find the interview you want to copy (look for the interview that says Completed), click the Actions drop-down menu to the right of the interview name, and choose Start a Copy.
Click the Next button through your interview to make any changes.
E-file your documents again at the end of the interview.
eFile Again in Your State's eFile Site
If the Returned Comments section in the email you received says you need to submit additional documents or forms, you may need to e-file again through your state's eFile site instead of the Guide & File site. To find your state's eFile site, click here and select your state. You can use the same login and password you used on the Guide & File site to log in to your state's eFile site. Note: Some states (for example, New Mexico) do NOT allow users without attorneys to use the eFile site.

Note: If you used a one-time payment account to file from the Guide & File site, you may need to add a payment account on your state's eFile site to be able to e-file.
