The Guide & File website is a solution to improve the filing process for filer's that don't have attorneys. Guide & File allows filers to have their court forms created through an interview process. Once the interview is completed, filer's can review their created forms from the interview, download the documents, pay court fees(if applicable), and submit the forms electronically to the court's.
When the documents are submitted through Guide & File, they are actually being submitted through the E-File & Serve website. The E-File & Serve website is where filer's can upload PDF court documents from a filer's computer which then get delivered electronically to the court. The E-File & Serve site works as a delivery system of documents.
Unlike Guide & File, it is not an interview process and filer's need to have their document prepared prior to using the E-File & Serve website.
When an interview is completed on Guide & File and documents are submitted then an envelope number is assigned. The envelope number is actually created by the E-File & Serve website. The same email and password is used for both Guide & File and E-File & Serve. If you sign into the E-File & Serve site for your state, you can locate your envelope through the Filing History. If you have further documents to E-File in your case, you can use the E-File & Serve website.
NOTE: Not all courts allow the electronic submission of documents through the Guide & File website. Some court's might require you to download, print and turn them into the court in person. Some court's might require you to download, save and upload to the E-File & Serve website.
